Instructions

  1. Step 1

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F)

  2. Step 2

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

  3. Step 3

In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until it becomes crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it aside, leaving the bacon drippings in the pan.

  4. Step 4

In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once the butter has melted, add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.

  5. Step 5

In the same skillet, add minced garlic and chopped sun-blushed tomatoes. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. Step 6

Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet for extra flavour.

  7. Step 7

Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream, dried basil, and dried oregano. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

  8. Step 8

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts into the sauce.

  9. Step 9

Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top.

  10. Step 10

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).

  11. Step 11

Once cooked, remove the skillet from the oven. Sprinkle the cooked bacon over the chicken.

  12. Step 12

Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve the Marry Me Chicken hot, accompanied by your favourite side dishes like rice, pasta, or roasted vegetables. Enjoy!

Recipe Story

In the culinary dance of love, some dishes sing with the passion of an operatic aria. Enter the Marry Me Chicken, a symphony of flavours orchestrated to tantalise the taste buds and ignite the flames of desire. This recipe, born from the crossroads of tradition and innovation, pays homage to the timeless allure of creamy sauces, tender chicken, and the bold embrace of bacon and sun-blushed tomatoes.

Picture this: succulent chicken breasts, lovingly seasoned with salt and pepper, seared to golden perfection in a skillet kissed by the remnants of smoky bacon. It's a sizzle that sets the stage, a prelude to the crescendo of flavors yet to come.

But it's the supporting cast that elevates this dish to culinary greatness. Enter sun-blushed tomatoes, their sweetness intensifying with each gentle sauté, mingling with garlic in a tantalising tango of aromas. Then, as if conducting a symphony, chicken broth joins the fray, infusing the scene with depth and complexity.

But the true star of the show? A velvety sauce, rich with the creaminess of heavy cream and the subtle spice of dried basil and oregano. It's a sauce that clings to every morsel of chicken, enveloping them in a tender embrace that whispers promises of indulgence.

As the ensemble takes its final bow, Parmesan cheese makes a cameo, adding a flourish of nuttiness that lingers on the palate long after the last bite. And what's a love story without a dash of drama? A brief interlude in the oven brings the flavors to a harmonious climax, rendering the chicken tender and the sauce irresistibly decadent.
